Bios

  • Amy McNeill-Spencer

    DVM

Dr. Amy Spencer earned her DVM from the University of Missouri School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. She also received a B.S. in biology in 1996. She began her path towards veterinary medicine as a young child with a very understanding mother whom would allow any stray animal to be brought home. As a child, she moved around the country (primarily in the south) followed by cats, dogs, fish and occasional pocket pet or reptile. She has a special interest in ultrasound and surgery. She is married to Joel and has 3 active boys, Samuel, Matthew and Benjamin. Her extended family includes Willie, the chow/ beagle/ schnauzer mix puppy and Tater Tot, the somewhat grumpy calico kitty. Her hobbies include reading, hiking and alpine skiing and watching college sports.

  • Mary Oxley-Ealing

    DVM

Dr. Mary Oxley Ealing received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University in 2007. She grew up in Fort Wayne in a family of dog lovers. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Animal Science from Purdue University. During veterinary school she did research projects in an infectious disease lab with a focus on Cat Scratch Disease. She completed her externship at the VCA Cat Hospital in Philadelphia. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association and American Association of Feline Practitioners. Her hobbies include biking, gardening, and knitting. Dr.Oxley lives in Carmel with her husband and her three rescued cats: Zen, Ziggy, and Blinkin.

  • Lisa Mellady

    DVM

Dr. Lisa Mellady earned her DVM from the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Prior to graduating from Purdue University in 1992, she received a BA with a double major in biology and studio fine art. Her love of animals comes from her childhood, growing up near her grandparent's dairy farm in rural New York; she was always surrounded by dogs, cats, and assorted pocket pets. This love of pets continued when her parents moved from New York to Lafayette, Indiana and attended church with the family's veterinarian. During her undergraduate studies she worked in the veterinary field as a kennel attendant, receptionist, and veterinary assistant. After completing her undergraduate studies she spent ten weeks as an extern at the Cincinnati Zoo. During her nonworking hours Lisa is very busy with her husband Paul and their four young children Colin, Kyle, Ethan, and Alydia. Their four-legged family members are an orange tabby cat, Sandy, that was a stray on our doorstep five years ago and Miss Peety their rat terrier and handy "vacuum" staying close to whomever is eating. Her hobbies include gardening, hiking, bicycling, drawing, painting and clay work when possible. Although right now it is limited to crayon and play-doh work. She currently lives west of Indianapolis in rural Indiana.
